After all it seems everybody in our culture is doing the exact opposite of what scripture teaches. well I am going to give you 3 reasons to think it's worth waiting for marriage to have sex.

 

After all : 어쨌든, 결국

Scripture : 성경, 성서, 성경 말씀

ex) I am trying to memorize scriptures every day.

ex) Look what the scriptures say about killing people. 사람들을 죽이는 것에 대해 성경이 뭐라고 말하고 있는지 봐.

 

 

The exact opposite of something : ~의 정반대

ex) Sometimes I do the exact opposite of what my mom says to make her angry.

 

It's worth -ing : ~할 가치가 있다

ex) I think it's worth saving sex for marriage.

 

 

 

The first one is that this is what God commands. Now before you say this is just a move of an authority, Realize God is the creator of the universe.  He has given us sex as a gift and it's good and it's beautiful but it's only when we live in your relationship just the way God designed us to be that we experience God's goodness. This is why deuteronomy 10 when Moses gives God's commandment he says here's God's commandments which are for your good.

 

Command : 명령하다

Authority : 권위/ 권력 

Deuteronomy : 신명기

God's commandment : 계명

ex) If you love me, keep my commandments.

 

Second is waiting until marriage to have sex protects us. It protects us from emotional harm. There's a powerful connection between people who are sexually active for marriage and oppression. It protects people from sexually transmitted infections and it protects people from relationships. When a couple has sex, more often than not before marriage it will lead to the breaking down of their relationship.

 

Oppression : 억압/ 억제

Transmitted : 전달되는

More often than not : 대개, 자주

Breaking down : 악화

 

But the third reason is because kids need a mom and a dad. Sex in the context of marriage protects the kids that naturally result from sexual activity and studies show that kids are most healthy, they do best in life, and they need a mom and dad who's present in their life.

 

In the context of ~ : ~라는 상황 속에서

Sex in the context of marriage : 결혼을 한 상황 속에서 하는 성관계

 

For these three reasons and many more, the wise person would wait to be sexually active until married to one person of the opposite sex for life.
 

For life : 평생, 죽을 때까지

ex) This is the moment I've been waiting for life. 내가 평생을 기다려왔던 순간이야.
